A building maintenance manager has determined that one of the small apartment buildings he manages contains a total of 7,200 square feet of wall space. The number of gallons of paint he needs in order to paint all the apartments can be calculated using the expression below. In this expression, f represents the number of square feet covered by a gallon of a particular brand of paint. 7200/f If the brand of paint the manager has selected will cover 450 square feet per gallon, how many gallons of paint does he need to buy?

7200 feet total divide by 450 feet per gallon of paint = 7200/450 = 16 gallons on paint
