they want you to "match up" d=420-65t with y=mx+b if you re-arrange the first equation to this d = -65 t + 420 and match it to y = m x + b you see d matches up with "y" d-intercept would be translated as y-intercept b is the y intercept. what matches with b ?

A car is traveling on a highway. The distance (in miles) from its destination and the time (in hours) is given by the equation What is the d-intercept of the line? (Remember the slope-intercept form is )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The d-intercept is when t=0 or the b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so would that make my answer (0,420) or (420,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is (0,420) (t,d) or (x,y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome thank you so much for your help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The x-value always is teh first coordinate and the y value is the second coordinate so d=-65(0)+420 =420 so our t=0 and our d=420

Even better thank you so much!
