A capacitor with two parallel plates of area 38.0 cm2 and Mylar (dielectric strength 7 MV/m) inserted between them breaks down when a voltage of 2.35 kV is applied. What is the maximum charge the plates will hold when the Mylar is removed and the space filled with air (dielectric strength 3 MV/m)?

you know that it has a breakdown strength of 7MV/m meaning if there is a potential difference of 7MV over 1 meter distance.. then it will break down but its found it already breaksdow at 2.35kV.. from this you can find what the distance between the plates are right (should be definitely less that 1 meter right?) then can u continue?
