Can someone construct a "K" and a "D" using a compass and a straightedge using only parallel and perpendicular lines (don't erase arc markings during construction) And explain how you constructed one of the letters ?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

So can you construct perpendicular lines?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

Can you construct an isosceles triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

ok so start with constructing one isosceles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and then?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

then, do you know how to construct the altitude?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha no

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

This is not meant to sound rude, I swear, but what do you know how to construct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm clueless with math tbh, i haven't had a decent math teacher since 4th grade...

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

ok, then can I recommend watching a particular video to help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

absolutely c:

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

You see, in order to do the problem, I'd be teaching you about 2 months worth of geometry

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

ok let me find it

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

https://www.khanacademy.org/math/geometry/geometric-constructions This is the entirety of the course that you will need to watch

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

There are 11 videos, you will only need the first like 5,6 but they will be useful for the rest of the course

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll get on that now then, thanks so much!

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

Np, if you need help after watching, just tag me. And thank you. Thank you so much for being willing to put the effort in to learn, you have no idea what it means today.
