A 12-pack of pop is on sale for $2.50. Mr. Adams spends $20 on pop which saves her $18 off the regular price. What is the regular price of one 12-pack?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so for $2.50 a pack , Mr Adam spends $20 How many packs did Mr. Adam buy? \[\frac{20}{2.50}=8\] Mr. Adam bought 8 12-pack of pop fon sale for $2.50 We know that Mr. Adam saved $18 Really for 8 packs he should have paid $20+$18=$38 When pop is normal priced then Mr. Adam would have to pay $38 to buy 8 packs So we come up with an equation 8*x=38 So x=the regular price of pop So 8 times the regular price equals $38 Now solve for x to find out the regular price of pop
