OpenStudy (travisbrown372):

228

OpenStudy (travisbrown372):

its 228

OpenStudy (travisbrown372):

you do 20 x 12 which is 240 then you do 20-14=6 and then 12-10=2 6x2=12 240-12=228

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I did (12+10) * 6/2 = 66 12 * 14 = 168 168 + 66 = 234

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@travisbrown372

OpenStudy (travisbrown372):

its confusing but its either 234 or 228

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Me too, cuz the way you did it wasn't wrong either :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathmale can you help me with this one ?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Hold it, everyone. Please do NOT simply give out "answers." The whole point here is that we need to learn how to do problems such as this one ourselves. So please think about how to approach the solution of this problem, step by step, and suggest steps.

OpenStudy (travisbrown372):

we did it right both times but which right answer is right

OpenStudy (mathmale):

|dw:1394806723033:dw| Hey, Travis: If we did the problem "right" both times, but get two different answers, how can you say "we did it right"?
