That's almost the whole answer. I'd likely go with 1, 4, and 5. All of those were factors in the Cold War as the Soviets continued to shore up their influence in Eastern Europe and flex their muscle. The Battle of Britain (2) and the evacuation of Dunkirk (3) occurred early on in WW2.
