I'd go with (B), that monotheism led to new art portraying life in Egypt. I'm guessing this refers to when Akhenaten made Aten the sole god of Egypt during his reformation period. It turned a lot of traditions on their heads since Egypt had worshipped a pantheon of gods for the last 1500 years before he came to the throne, so when they went to one god, it changed a lot of things in their lives including art. Instead of portraying everyone in a stylized "perfect" look, artists were encouraged to depict the pharaoh and his family "as they were" instead which was a radical change.
