Type: Bug The problem: Bumping a question does not update the list in real time? In-depth description: When bumping my question, and I do not see it getting bump up the list, though when I refresh it is bumped up. Problem is I do not see other peoples question get bumped up until I refresh too. Issue occurs on: Firefox (Nightly) Chrome (Developer build)
i second that....
@Opcode Well OpenStudy is built to run on stable browser releases, both those are unstable releases in BETA so I am sure that this is not a problem on our end specifically, it could be a collision between both the site and browser. I suggest reporting this issue to the browser dev team since it seems that it's and AJAX or JavaScript issue they will probably want to hear about it.
Firefox Nightly, does not mess with the rendering of the page, or the gecko environment, all it does show off new things, such as improvements to the XUL runner (notation goes up by one if there is a render engine change, so 30 -> 31 but that hasn't happened and it was working fine.) It still has the same render engine as stable Firefox, so the issue cannot be from Nightly alone. As to make sure, I tested to see if I could duplicate the issue within stable Firefox and Chrome and I could. So it is a site issue not browser. (btw just to clarify, Chrome BETA build and Chrome DEVELOPER build is different, same with firefox, Aurora is equal to the beta build, and nightly is the build from every night normally referred to as the developer build.) @JA1 who is the, "browser dev team"? c0decracker?
@Opcode ause You're right, nightly is worse than BETA because all those new features are still being built and any of them could easily affect the pages rendering since it has to do with javascript (in this case AJAX) The reason I am sure it's on your end is because the bump works fine for me, and also the devs on Openstudy have been doing some tune-ups so it may have caused a bug in some browser types/versions. I mean the Nightly/Chrome broswer devs.
Odd maybe it is just for certain users? (Like when some users can only see orange and others can see the smartscore.) @MelissaHolmes Has the issue, and I doubt he/she is using any other browser build other than stable. Anyway, I'l keep this open for now until I can see the problem is fixed :-P.
Hmmm, perhaps the server sends data to some users but when it get's overloaded (or simply is on it's period ) it might break some elements for users.... highly doubtful but possible.
Is this happening to others? @c0decracker
I can't replicate from my side...
Running Chrome Version 33
@shrutipande9 was having the same problem and I suggestedd that she try refreshing. It then worked for her.
I'm also having this prablem.
I too use Firefox Nightly (Aurora), but I see them getting bumped.
My experience tells me though, that the issue is not the because of the browser. It's the site issue, and the issue of amount of memory in your comp. I mean like, "how instantly working your computer is?" but idk, because my computer is 4-5 months old, everything work instantly, but I get problems with OS all the time :(
Odd I can see my OpenStudy feedback thread getting bumped, but not my biology thread. Perhaps it is just in certain groups?
I see other people's questions get bumped, but I hardly ever see mine getting bumped.
