Linear Inequalities in Two Variables

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

can you graph the 2 lines (red and blue) ?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I meant to derive the equation of the lines looking at the graph.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I know the answer :) (Hint elimination)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you see that in L1 it's y less than... and in L2 y is more than...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not A and B

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\huge\color{blue}{ :)}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe that its D

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

why do you believe that the answer is D? I believe in God

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait its not B or C it would be between A and D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait it may possibly be A

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

why wouldn't the answer be A B or C? I am not saying yes or no, I am asking you to tell me what makes you think what you say ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B and C are giving be another graph turned different ways

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

OK, good !

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

SO is it A or D, THAT'S the qweshchion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok my answer would be A

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Why would your answer be A? explain please

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

both inequalities are greater then

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yeah, in choice A they are both grater than.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my answer is choice A final answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow you guys work good together

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha do you watch who wants to be a millionare?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I do not agree with you @Star_DynastyT

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

oh, starRRRR my bad...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let her do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t is A i chose the answer already and it said that it was A not D

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you got to be kidding me.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I SUCK AT MATH !!!!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

it is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES i was RIGHT!!!!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

you do not suck at math Solomon...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good job starr

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

there we go..everyone got medals :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for the medal texaschic

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

no problem :) you encouraged starr....you deserve a medal

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I don't understand why is it A ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

by looking at the graph and the way it is shaded, both answers have to be greater then....do you understand that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe you should look it up on the internet

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

No, only one line is greater then. greater then the line means it's shaded above the y.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

like up from the diagonal if you know what I mean.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't even get it... I just tried my best

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

greater then means it is shaded above the line....both are shaded above the line

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

My school suck then.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

suck S

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can use khanacademy.org to help you... I love that site

OpenStudy (anonymous):

https://www.khanacademy.org/

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Just a gift for you guys https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

lol...now look at your y intercepts....and go by your slopes. for instance...1st inequality....-5 is y intercept...go to -5....slope is 3, so go up 3 and to the right 1 and up 3 and to the right 1 and you will see that it follows the line. Do the same for the other inequality

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oh...nice graphing calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome never seen a site like that don't judge me

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

no it's good, nvm

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

graph both inequalities on your calculator and you will see that A is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was cool bad part is I'm just learning coordinate grids since I'm a 6th grader
