OpenStudy (alina123):

The temperature decreased 20 degrees over the last 4 days. Which integer represents the average daily decrease in temperature? A. 80 B. -80. c. 5 D -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20*-4=

OpenStudy (alina123):

-20 divided 4 is that wrong

OpenStudy (alina123):

Because it decreased

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I meant 20 multiplied by -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20*4=80 but its decreasing so it would be the opposite of 80

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

this is a little confusing.....if it decreased 20 degrees in 4 days, then it decreased 20/4 = 5 degrees each day. So did it decrease -5 degrees or 5 degrees.....thats where I am confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't 20 be going down though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@texaschic101 your right

OpenStudy (alina123):

I would say -5 because it decreased 20 which is negative so 4 days over so divide

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

but average daily decrease is 5 degrees per day.....or is average daily decrease -5 degrees per day ??

OpenStudy (alina123):

But it says decreased 20 over so you know it is negetative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20/-4=?

OpenStudy (alina123):

Over all. -5

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

your probably right....I guess I am just reading it wrong and making it harder then it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I would go with -5.

OpenStudy (alina123):

-5 times 4 is -20

OpenStudy (alina123):

Ok so I have another question adios everybody

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bye :)
