OpenStudy (abb0t):

\(\sf \color{red}{Question}\): We found that the rate of carbonoylation of isopropyl alcohol to produce isobutyric acid is \(\sf 7x\) faster than the carbonnylation of propyl alcohol to give butyric acid (note this is a monsanto type process). If oxidative addaative is the RDS in the catalytic cycle, what can be inferred about the mechanism of oxodative addition when you have isopropyl alcohol as the starting material?
