Striving for Perfection in an Imperfect World

    Perfection; the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects. A person or thing can be perceived as the embodiment of perfection, “The satiny perfection of her skin”, or can be described as the process of improving something until it is faultless or as faultless as possible, “I am told she is perfection itself”. The media uses programs like Photoshop and other filters to portray perfection that is not achievable. The results is many men and women have negative body image; this can lead to psychological illnesses that cause complications such as anorexia, bulimia, and even death.
