The table below shows the half-lives of four radioactive materials. Radioactive material Half-lives Bismuth-212- 60.5 seconds Sodium-24- 15 hours Iodine-131- 8.07 days Radium-226- 1,600 years Which of these materials will decay the fastest to one-fourth of its original amount? a Bismuth-212 b Sodium-24 c Iodine-131 d Radium-226

Bismuth-212

thnx can you help me with some other ones?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The shortest half-life is the radionuclide that decays the most rapidly.

what ?? lol got me lost now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A half-life is the time it take for half of the material to decay. The shorter the half-life the faster the decay. Things that live a day die faster than things that live a year. Same principle.

was he right with the first answer?
