I need to know how to install the Python IDLE. I only got a command prompt when I installed Python. Is the IDLE different from the command line prompt

if you are using Windows then you will have IDLE as default IDE. just search for IDLE and run it if you are using linux then most probably you will have python installed but you will have to install IDLE yourself (from the software center etc.) MacOS : don`t know about that.
