Which of the following was most likely the purpose of Psalm 23?
King David was blessing God's name and proclaiming his faith. Psalm 23 is a declarative prayer, one which probably resulted from a difficult time in David's life - "the shadow of the valley of death/the darkest valley" referring to the trials he was going through. But through that, he trusted God to/actually saw that God was more than providing for him - "my cup overflows". note: declarative prayer is taking scripture/the message behind God's promises and proclaiming it in your life, from a place of power. Ephesians 2:6 gives believers the power to command those things, because you are literally seated with God in Heaven even in your life on Earth. B/c you are God's child (and thus royalty), you have authority in the spiritual world.
