Why do warehouse workers move heavy boxes around on carts with wheels?

Because the rolling friction is less than sliding friction

Go ahead, Find a box that weighs 250 lbs and push it around... Now take the box, slide a cart/lift thingy under it and wheel it around... Notice the difference? A. its easier B. There's a lot less injury risk, Taking the strain off of your body and placing on the cart is so much safer. Hope this helps! :)
