OpenStudy (elise_a18):

Would I say: "Lay in the sun" or "lie in the sun," need answers ASAP, MEDALS ARE BEING GIVEN!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It depends on the sentence. What is the full sentence going to be?

OpenStudy (elise_a18):

"It's so nice being able to lie/lay in the sun" does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that helps. Saying "It's so nice being able to lay in the sun." sounds much better than lie. So that is the one you would choose.

Lay is to put something down Lie is to rest and recline So lay would be used for an object and lie for a person or animal @31356 is correct ! :D
