OpenStudy (princezz):

What is the difference between an exponential and a non-exponential function?

OpenStudy (princezz):

I think its that the x is not the exponent

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

You're on the right track. Soooooo \[e^{x}\] would be an exponential function. And something like f(x) = x+2 would not be.

OpenStudy (a1234):

Exponential functions have variables raised to an exponent. Exponential graphs usually have a wide curve that is not a straight line. Example of exponential function: y = 3^x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exponential function contains \[a^{x}\] other than this are non exponential
