What is the sumof the polynomials 3a2b+ 2a2b2and–ab2+a2b2?

Assuming...3a^2b+ 2a^2b^2 and –ab^2+a^2b^2

3a^2b+ 2a^2b^2
–a b^2+a^2b^2

3a^2b + 3a^2 2b^2 - ab^2

I think this would be it, but not properly indicating the exponents and not having proper spacing made it confusing for me.

THe answer is 3a2b–ab2+ 3a2b2 But how did the addition turn into a subtraction? ANd No its for college

Because the last part (- ab^2) is an unlike term, meaning that it cannot be added to or subtracted from the other terms.

And the damn placement test is monday. Its not a like a test its just to see how far i will get. If i dont get to far, meaning the questions get easier, than im placed in remedial and its not counted as a credit. Im not totally brain dead in math but its looking pretty bad for me

Oh, my! I can't visualize how you can be told of a test for college just three days before. Anyway, just do a bunch of practice questions and tests. You can find plenty of standardized tests from previous years online. I wish you the best of luck!
