Solve x^2 + 3x – 4 = 0 I know the formula is supposed to be ax^2+bx+c but I am a bit confused

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

This is a case of factoring a quadratic equation into form (x+a)(x+b) = 0.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Where a & b are two numbers that will add to give you +3 and multiply to give you -4, as noted in the original equation. Do you know two numbers like that?

Oh, I got it. Thank's for your help :)
