Area of rectangle = l*w

So the first rectangle has an area of 48

divide that by 2 you get small rectangles

Then divide that by 3 and you get 8

\[4\times12 =48\]\[48\div2=24\]\[24 \div3 =8\] 8 is the lenght of x
