How do i put secant in my calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no button for secant. You have to put 1/cos

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

thanks and lol i know theres no button

OpenStudy (mathmale):

The secant function is the reciprocal of the cosine function. Suppose you set your calculator to DEGREE mode and that you wanted to find the secant of 45 degrees. One way to do that would be to type in (cos 45)^(-1). That would find the reciprocal of cos 45. Depends upon what kind of calculator you have.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

1/(cos 45) would work, too!

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

Thank you :)
