Pls help:) Explain briefly what is meant by the term rectification of an electric signal. An alternating sinusoidal signal of frequency 50Hz and root mean square voltage 240V is supplied to the primary coil of a full wave rectifier, using a center tapped transformer. 1.Calculate the output voltage of the secondary coil, if the primary to secondary turn ratio of the center tapped transformer is 10:1 2.Find the peak to peak ripple voltage and the mean output voltage, if the rectifier is connected to a load resistance of 10ohms and the capacitor of 100micro Farads.
Which part do you need help? you know what rectification is?
ya. i need help with the 1st nd 2nd questions. actually i missed this lecture. so i dnt hav any idea about hw to do it.
ok.. so n the first quesiton u need to find the transformer output voltage.. a transformer doesn't convert ac to dc, but just steps up or steps down it is given it has a turns ration of 10:1. using that can u find the output voltage?
bt there is a formula for that right?
yea.. there is.. do you know?
is it 24? if primary coil is more than secondary then it is step down. is it so?
yes.. thats perfect!
sry abt it. can u pls help me with the second one?
ok second one, you have direct formula ya?
