There are seven sisters standing around the kitchen table. Each one has seven backpacks. In each backpack, there are seven large cats. For every large cat, there are seven small cats. How many legs are there in the room? Help!

OpenStudy (issy14):

ok so, 1 sister has 2 legs. 1 sister = 7 backpacks, No legs. 1 backpack = 7 large cats = 28 legs. 1 large cat = 7 small cats. = 28 legs. So 1 backpack has 56 legs. Plus 2 = 58. 58 x 7 = 406 legs =)

:)

OpenStudy (issy14):

and the table's legs so 406 + 4 = 410 legs.

OpenStudy (issy14):

Did that make it easier?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes thanks so much! you must love math!

OpenStudy (issy14):

HOLD UP your total should be 1586

OpenStudy (issy14):

I forgot to multiply 28 x 7 = 196. 28 small cats times the 7 large cats.
