Well it is a square... The area of a square would be the length times the width....and we know squares have 4 equal sides...so if 1 side = 8x - 2 Then the area would be \[\large (8x - 2)(8x - 2)\] So distribute this out... \[\large 64x^2 - 16x - 16x + 4\] \[\large 64x^2 - 32x +4 \] would be your answer!
