Find the polar coordinates that do not describe the point in the given graph. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2s0xmom&s=8#.UyXt3qhdUS4 (-4, 120°) (4, 300°) (4, -240°) (4, -60°)

I'd really appreciate some help here.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

I hope you didn't see my last post, that's not the case for all points.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Polar coordinates are in form (r,theta), where r is USUALLY negative. However, if r is in the opposite direction of theta, r can be negative.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

What I advise you to do is take your picture, find where the angle is for each choice, then extend the line to r units, whether positive or negative.

I ended up finding the answer, but thank you for your suggestion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I'm correct, it's (4, -240°).

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

I believe so. -240 degrees is the same as 120 degrees. Since r=4, the line will extend in the direction of 120 degrees, not the other way, toward 300 degrees.
