Hey guys, just to be REALLY sure. How many protons and electrons are there in an oxide ion, O^2- ? I'm confused whether to add or subtract the 2.

electrons are negatively charged, and so they add negative charges to atom.

So, its 8 protons and 10 electrons, right?
