My parents and I are trying to decide on a new piano: an upright Steinway & Sons, or a grand Young Chang... they are both the same price... Which is better?

Grand > upright always, at least in terms of style/aesthetics, and probably other more important stuff.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

grand btops upright anyday

A grand is prettier and normally of better quality.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

^that's what I was getting at.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

hm... steinway and sons is generally of the highest quality, but if you're looking for a really good piano, generally, a grand would be the best thing. Besides, it also looks prettier. Gotta love white pianos :3 Also, it's good to go with which piano you think has better sound quality. That is something you should personally judge. Based on all the above criteria previously mentioned, you should pretty much know which piano you want. Best of luck!

Thank you so much! :D
