Madison and Jefferson were founders of the Democratic-Republicans who opposed the Federalists. Sam Adams headed up the Jeffersonian Republicans in Massachusetts. Patrick Henry was huge in the push for a Bill of Rights to limit the federal government. You might look at Lee who was looking to add revenue to the Federal government though land sales.
