As I know, Renaissance is a French word for rebirth and this period started the idea of improving lives (from my history 12 ;p) . During this period, artists wanted to make their art more realistic but we know that a paper is 2D, so in order for the painting to have a 3D look, Filippo or Fillipe (not sure what that dude's name) created linear perspective.Since then, artists used linear perspective, which is the style in painting in making some kind of depth. hmm not sure how to explain, but something like this: |dw:1395098512865:dw|
