like it has similarities but it can also have some differences

in the case of a similar figure, you're usually looking at figures whose side lengths have a consistent scaling factor, along with the same kind of figure

like a 2d case thats easier to grasp would be two similar triangles
two equilateral triangles would have the same three angles always and forever, but one could have side lengths of 3 and one could have side lengths of 6
they're similar in the respect that they are equilateral triangles (same angles) and have a commomn scaling factor of 2 between them
