Why Did the US Reject the Treaty of Versailles?

OpenStudy (rina.r):

WELCOME TO SO:) Just to let u know that this is a HISTORY question and u have posted in bio... so to get more response plz post in to histroy next time.. Thnakyou. The United States rejected the Treaty of Versailles because the League of Nations was part of the treaty, and the United States wanted no part of the League of Nations. The United States did not want another nation to decide their foreign policies. The Treaty of Versailles was originally signed by President Woodrow Wilson, but he forgot to bring Senators and Representatives with him. The US also did not sign the treaty because they didn't want to treat Germany that harshly. http://www.ask.com/question/why-did-the-us-reject-the-treaty-of-versailles
