Which of the following is the best estimate of the circumference of a circle that has a diameter of 7 feet? 11 ft 14 ft 42 ft 21 ft

OpenStudy (kainui):

Well since Circumference around a circle is the same as pi times the diameter of the circle, we can just multiply the diameter by pi to get the circumference! Since we're just estimating, a good way to round off pi, which is 3.1415.... you can just use 3 instead since it's close enough.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be 21.98 cuz u do 3.14X7=21.98

OpenStudy (ankit042):

Hint formula for circumference is 2*pi*r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

? @ankit042

OpenStudy (ankit042):

you forgot to mutily by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh k thx

OpenStudy (kainui):

@ankit042 that's wrong. She was given diameter, not the radius. The correct answer will be: 3*7=21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 21 is right? @Kainui

OpenStudy (kainui):

@loveya6638 yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (ankit042):

Sorry I made the mistake
