If you have a ladder leaning against a wall on a horizontal floor, and then a man standing a quarter way up the ladder, does the ladder have a weight and a normal reaction at the centre, AND the man has a weight and normal reaction? or just the man?

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Well everything does have a weight and normal reaction doesn't everything

OpenStudy (amorfide):

Yes but in normal questions, you get told things like "an object of mass 10kg is on an inclined surface" And we never take into account the weight of the surface, just the object its self, but the question gives a mass of the ladder so I am not sure what to do.

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Well I don't know...
