Please help me. I will give medals. What is the exact value of sin 30° as found on the unit circle? A. sqrt of 2/2 B. sqrt of 3/2 C. 1/2 D. 0
It'll be in your best interest to memorize these special angles and their properties.
With regards to a triangle: \[\sin(x) = \frac{ opposite }{ hypotenuse }\]
It's a circle not a triangle.
I get it, but it's the same concept. It's like we're taking a piece out of the circle.
The bottom of the triangle is the x axis, and we go up 30 degrees to make the hypotenuse.
This triangle helps you a lot, just think it through a bit https://www.google.hu/search?q=equilateral+triangle+with+sides+of+2&safe=off&espv=210&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=12coU4LnE6SBywPw5YDABw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1600&bih=799#facrc=_&imgrc=VnTFXJTBbnNomM%253A%3B0JHGx3V6cWsTRM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252F3.bp.blogspot.com%252F-T7y3CnbnCMU%252FT_uDbaiLbVI%252FAAAAAAAANYU%252FDcFSJeUDMVE%252Fs1600%252Ffinding%252Barea%252Bof%252Bequilateral.png%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fblog.pwnthesat.com%252F2012%252F07%252Fweekend-challenge-dead-zones.html%3B303%3B309 Sorry for the long link, I am lazy to make a drawing now :)
