Process of elimination is a good way to approach the multiple choice questions - for example, all forms of life reproduce. Bacteria are a form of life, therefore they reproduce. Therefore, B is not a possible answer. Similarly, all forms of life take in energy - life requires energy to function. So C isn't the answer either...
