This recent situation in chats is mainly due to the site being unresponsive with so many people on at once, it also seems to make mod tools slow/unresponsive.
I believe the OS team is working on that specific issue presently.

And it is fine. You should at least know that the mods do care about it. We weren't ignoring it, but we had to subdue it with only a few mod tools that were functioning at the time (kick/delete msgs). It seems to have got better for the time and the offending users were suspended. :)

That is all that i am able to do sometimes. Most of the time, the mods are very busy, and even when i tag them, they are dealing with something else. So you need to be patient too.

I don't get it: if you're being bullied, just walk away. There's always some other people to talk to.
Don't let it affect your personal life. People will always say bad stuff, so don't sweat it.

This game has been going on for quite some time, and the problem is only increasing exponentially as OpenStudy gains more and more users every day. We already suggested a lot of things that would deal with this problem, like an IP blacklist used for registering new accounts (the IP of the one suspended would be put on this list for about an hour so they cannot create new accounts), IP ban tools for moderators, a chat mute function, the need to verify an account before the chat and private messages can be used and many more. Yet 1 year later nothing has changed a bit. Let's hope the new CTO will bring a change to this soon, as they promised to us some time back.
