Which statement is true about BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes? A. These genes were discovered in 1953. B. Cancerous tumors often form on these genes. C. People can be tested for mutations on these genes. D. Mutations of these genes lead to diabetes.
Process of elimination is a good way to approach these questions. For example, the gene name - BRCA - comes from "BReast CAncer". So it's probably not involved directly in diabetes. And it probably wasn't discovered in 1953, when scientists were only just working out that genes were in fact carried on DNA...
Okay...sooo... i'm confused.
If you don't know the answer to a multiple choice question, sometimes it's a good idea to figure out which options it isn't. That way, if you have to guess, your odds of guessing right are better. Is that much cool?
Yes.
OK - so I tried to give you some pointers to which options are not the right answer. For example, it's not A. In 1953 scientists still didn't know that genes are carried on DNA. So there is no way they could have identified the gene if they didn't even know it existed.
Let me go back and read the question again, and ill come back, give an answer of I think it is, and maybe you could tell if it's right or wrong?
Sure - just keep in mind that I have to leave in about half an hour.
Is it C?
???
I agree - I think it is C. :)
Yay! Thank you! :)
its c
