http://prntscr.com/321k0s so you have a 3 by 3 triangle a 2 by 3 rectangle another 3 by 3 triangle a 4 by 5 triangle and a 1 by 5 triangle area of triangle = (1/2)(base)(height) area of rectangle = (base)(height) so total area = all added up -> (1/2)(3)(3) + (2)(3) + (1/2)(3)(3) + (1/2)(4)(5) + (1/2)(1)(5) = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont know im confused :( @jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

did you see how I split up the picture into pieces? I'm basically just taking the area apart into shapes that I can find the area of, then adding it back together (1/2)(3)(3) + (2)(3) + (1/2)(3)(3) + (1/2)(4)(5) + (1/2)(1)(5) = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

= 27.5 ? is that the answer
