Question

I know the OpenStudy Feedback is for us to give feedback. However, I am seeking your feedback which is important for when I do become a teacher. So my plan is to simply let my future students know about OpenStudy and to encourage them to get help from the site if they are ever stuck on a math problem or if they just need some clarification. Plus, I really think it would be a good idea to offer extra credit if some students can offer help on the site. Then I was thinking they could email me the link as proof of them helping another individual in the community.

Well, I would hope they could be truthful... plus I think it would show if they don't understand or not eventually. Plus, I would expect that the community will not downgrade. So I would expect that if they get help from this site... they interact with the person that is helping them.

Oh yeah, the test. That's the thing about OpenStudy- what you put inside it comes out.

That is up to them because remember... the test will tell the truth. They can cheat all they want.. but it will eventually catch them in the end. I plan on teaching High School so I am hoping that by that age they will get it. If not that will be fine. All I want my students to know is that OpenStudy is a great resource. Instead of reading something online that they probably will not understand they can interact with another human via internet in their living room.

What a brilliant idea! You'll do well on teaching the students. They will learn from you during lectures and on top of that, learn again via Openstudy. The concepts will definitely persist long-termly in them. I'm sure they'll do well on exams!

That's an awesome idea, I think the students who will take time and help others, or even each other, would definitely learn a lot more, and also they can hang out together if they like and that way it would benefit them as a whole. Sort of like a online classrooms :P.

It sound like a great idea. And, you could monitor their cheating and/or helping others by looking at their "questions asked" and "questions answered" when you view their profiles.
