OpenStudy (anonymous):

how are DNA and mRNA alike

thomaster (thomaster):

They have the same structure, but RNA is like DNA but cut in half. They have 3 nucleobases which are the same. only 1 differs. Have a look at the attached image.

OpenStudy (math_genius123):

no RNA is not like DNA

OpenStudy (math_genius123):

RNA has a ribose sugar instead of a deoxyribose sugar like DNA. RNA nucleotides have a uracil base instead of thymine. Other than these differences, DNA and RNA are the same.

thomaster (thomaster):

They are similar in some ways. That is being asked, in which ways are they similar. The question is not: is DNA like RNA?

OpenStudy (math_genius123):

OpenStudy (abb0t):

DNA is missing a hydroxyl group on 2' carbon.
