OpenStudy (pgxgirl103):

Can someone help me solve this using the quadratic formula? x^2+3=9x

OpenStudy (pgxgirl103):

i would like to be walked thorugh it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to complete the square?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Really, walphramalpha for this? Even I can do it with my OWN head

OpenStudy (mertsj):

First subtract 9x from both sides so that you have: \[x^2-9x+3=0\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Now notice that a = 1, b = -9 and c = 3 Plugging into the formula, we have: \[x=\frac{9\pm \sqrt{81-4(1)(3)}}{2}\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Perhaps you can simplify that on your own.
