Find the maximum area of a rectangle bounded by the line y=-3x+12 and the x-axis and y-axis

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Did you give up? The vertices of the rectangle are, in clockwise order, starting at the origin. (0,0), (0,y),(x,y),(x,0) and x*y is the area. How do you maximize that? Since y = 12-3x, The vertices of the rectangle are, in clockwise order, starting at the origin. (0,0), (0,12-3x),(x,12-3x),(x,0) and x*(12-3x) is the area. How do you maximize that?
