Which of the following is an example of an organism maintaining homeostasis? A. a boy riding a bike B. a cat grooming itself C. a bear nursing her cubs D. a man sweating while he runs
Homeostasis is about an organism trying to keep it's conditions in a suitable range. Like from getting too much or too little of something.
A bear nursing the cubs doesn't work, because it doesn't affect the mother bear's conditions.
Same with the boy and his bike, he's not regulating conditions, he's just getting healthy.
Does the cat really need to groom itself to allow for it's internal conditions to keep working? No.
So the answer is a man sweating because his body is trying to keep from being too hot.
In the future you may want to post this in the science section, since this is the math section.
