John O'Sullivan has just completed his first year in business. His records show that he spent the following in advertising: Internet $600 Radio $650 Yellow Pages $700 Local flyers $400 What percent of John's advertising was spent on the Yellow Pages? (Round to the nearest hundredth percent.)
Don't worry this won't be too hard. All you need to do is add them to find out the total.
Percent tells you what part of the whole thing you have.
Then you take the amount from the yellow pages (700) and divide it by the total. Then multiply it by 100 and that is your percent.
The total is 2350.
700/2350 *100= 29.787234
29.79% is the answer.
awesome! it all makes sense! I was getting caught up on the part where you multiply by 100. thank you so much for all of your help!
