Her office job pays her $13 per hour. Her cashier job pays her $9.25 per hour. In one week, Melania worked 38 hours. She earned a total of $434. How many hours did Melania work in each job? A.Office clerk: 10 hours; cashier: 28 hours B.Office clerk: 16 hours; cashier: 22 hours C.Office clerk: 21 hours; cashier: 17 hour D.Office clerk: 22 hours; cashier: 16 hours

Solve this by simultaneous equations. let x + y = 38 which is the total number of hours she worked. Then, because the jobs pay 13 and 9.25 mark these as coefficients. So your equation will be 13x + 9.25y = 38. Now using the choices you have see which number when plugged in would give you 38.
