If L = 2 inches, W = 7 inches, and H = 6 inches, what is the surface area of the rectangular prism? 84 in2 144 in2 136 in2 68 in2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amigatour):

Here is the formula: Surface Area = 2(lh) + 2(lw) + 2(wh)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amigatour this is a prism , not a cuboid surface area of prism = perimeter of rectangular base * height = 2*(L+W)*H

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so 2*2*7 and so forth which is............ 136

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2*2*7+(2*2*6)+(2*7*6)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks sorry to waste you guys time. you guys are smart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

equals 136

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wish i could give you all metals!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awe thx but i love helping more that even doing school :P lol

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Surface Area = 2 (lh + lw + wh) 2 * (2*6) + (2*7) + (7*6) = SA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah u r right in this problem total surface area is asked

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha @qdbug your funny。◕‿◕。

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Lol, so are you @♥hi♥hi <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) @LovelyAnna

OpenStudy (amigatour):

@niksva, Yes, the formula I have provided is relevant to the problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amigatour formula provided by you was right I thought ,in this problem, lateral surface area was asked but it turned out to be total surface area
