Pls explain so I can learn more about this!! I dont know what to do with three variables Factor this polynomial: 2x + 3xy

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

doesnt matter how many variable you have, just factor the GCF

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

2x + 3xy ^ ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor the x's out

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

both terms have "x" common, eh ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

^^ factor the x's out

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

2x + 3xy

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

when u pull out "x" from first term, 2 stays back when u pull out "x" from second term. 3y stays back

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

2x + 3xy pulling out "x" gives u : x(2+3y)
