In a recent survey of 50 ten-years olds, it was discovered that 14 liked both Mcdonald's and Burger King. Overall, 36 of the children survey liked mcdonald's and 24 liked burger king. How many of the children surveyed did not like either restaurant? Please show your statistical thinking to support your answer. 14/50+36/50+24/50=74/50 or 1.48

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

Is the 1.48 your answer, and if so, what does that number represent?

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

I don't think it makes sense to have 1.48 children in this question...

OpenStudy (kropot72):

|dw:1395368044119:dw| As you can see from the Venn diagram, the number of children who did not like either restaurant is given by: \[50-(22+10+14)=you\ can\ calculate\]
